A pretty central location for this fine dining restaurant. Went for a 11-course set dinner for a rather large table of 12 persons. Atmosphere is slightly underwhelming in the private room which really offers nothing special. Luckily the chef is able to surprise with some creative dishes. Some are outstanding while others belong to the "good effort" category. Overall, we had a good time... Service was absolutely first class and the story telling is second to none. Keep it up ! Solo dining. Excellent attentive service, well paced meals. Burst of flavor in every bite. Chef created a tour of Thailand, with local ingredients and classic recipes presented in fine dining format. All well explained, and I had a chance to see some of the raw materials used, staff was fantastic in answering my queries. Some I really loved, some not so much- but that’s personal taste. Remarkable wine pairing. Had the chance to try something exotic (for me!)- crocodile tongue! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to try Thai fine dining! Final souvenir with small bottles of mango jam and chilli was so thoughtful I dont want to call the feeling of eating at this restaurant a scam because that would be too harsh. But it's fair to say spending an evening here is an incredible waste of money and time. If you enjoy very little food and a very nice lady tells you a story about every dish in broken English, then this might be for you. Lets talk about the dishes. Its not bad but not good either. I was with wife at the North restaurant the other night for their course meal. If food at the North can be rated at 8.5/10, then food here is 4.5 at best. Its not that tasty and portion is laughablely underwhelming. To call this 11 course meal is a crime in itself. We also ordered the tea pairing and juice pairing. It was a huge disappointment. It didnt elevate the paring dish in anyway and one of the green color coconut juicy tasted straight up gross. Then let's talk about value. Me and wife had two course meal for 3850 each plus tea paring at 690 and juicy paring at 980. Plus tax and service fee. Everything comes out 11240. The entire experience was so bad that we asked to just send out rest of 3 dishes together to save time so we can make it to another restaurant before it is closed. I can't understand why there are so many good reviews. Maybe it's emperors new cloth kinda of situation. People convinced themselves is good because they are told its good. But If you ask for my honest opinion, I say its 2.5 of 10. Food is pretentious and subpar. Its the most disappointing restaurant we ever visited in Bangkok. The only good thing I can say is the staffs are very friendly.
