A unique experience. Overall enjoyable but a little mechanical in delivery. It would have been better if the messaging came from the heart with a bit more personal touch. But throughout the dinner, the explanations and steps seemed more rehearsed than sincere.Situated in the middle of Chinatown, the restaurant is charming and the entrance inviting. But the entry welcome is a little like waiting to see a Dr at a medical surgery; professional but it lacked the warmth. It is interesting to note that the Tiger features heavily in the storyline of the restaurant & we were told of the Tiger Room on the 3rd level where 5 tigers are supposedly painted on the walls - only to find that 5 leopards were painted instead! The food was good, beautifully executed with tastes that were familiar yet presented in a different way. Kudos to Chef Pam for her creativeness yet not straying too far from her Thai Chinese roots. We learnt the menu is changed only once a year - enough time for the culinary team to experiment and come up with thoughtful menus! We enjoyed dinner but at over Bht 10K a head (with drinks), it is pricey. Professionally executed but lacking the wow factor or surprise or the simple heartfelt gestures that elevate a good experience to a great one. We left satiated but not over the moon. It was definitely an experience dining at Potong - from the vibey venue to the masterful culinary creations of Chef Pam, it was what we expected and more. The stars of the night has to be the duck and wagyu dishes. Both melted in our mouth with an explosion of flavours! A pity though is the dessert. We didnt understand how it was part of the menu and it was a chocolate mousse cake with underwhelming flavours and dry. We really wanted to end it on a high but unfortunately, it didnt. Will still highly recommend as all the other dishes were incredible! There are meals, and then there are Potong moments — you know the kind that linger long after, tugging at memory. Chef Pam (Pichaya “Pam” Soontornyanakij) has turned her family’s century-old, Sino-Portuguese, herbal medicine shop in Yaowarat into just that kind of place: a living bridge between past and future, between the intimate and the spectacular. Chef Pam—Asia’s Best Female Chef 2025—transforms her family’s century-old Sino-Portuguese building in Yaowarat into something rare: a Michelin star, five-floor story of heritage and imagination. Our journey began at the Sino Bar on the ground floor, with its nostalgic wooden ceiling, before settling into a tasting menu (curated just for us by Chef Pam on a special request) on the second floor. Chef Pam graciously curated a full vegetarian experience for two, and every course was both inventive and deeply rooted in her Thai-Chinese philosophy. From delicate seasonal vegetables prepared with surprising textures to brilliant substitutions for the signature 14-day Aged Duck & Blackened Chicken with Chinese Herbs, each plate was thoughtful, balanced, and distinctly hers. We chose the sommelier selection for our pairings, beginning with a bottle of Dom Pérignon, and over the next two-plus hours, the meal unfolded like chapters in a book. Highlights? The artistry of the five-element philosophy—salt, acidity, spice, texture, and the Maillard effect—woven into dishes that honored tradition while gently pushing it forward. Our evening ended high—literally—first at the Opium Bar on the fourth floor, with its surreal escape of cocktails, and finally on the rooftop, gazing over the rare, quiet views of Chinatown. A special note: don’t leave without sipping Chef Pam’s house-made kāng pǔ chá (kombucha), crafted in her dedicated fermentation room—it’s a signature memory in itself. 😉❤️ Can’t wait to see you again Chef! 🫡⚡️ You are incredible.

Amazing 1 Michelin Star restaurant! This place has a unique history in it's building and the chef has incorporated that history throughout the dinner experience. The restaurant is located in the heart of Chinatown so getting here even by car was tough. At first I thought the dishes were very small and wouldn't be enough, by the end of the meal I felt full. They offer menus that take you online that explains the buildings history and the menu for the night. The only complaint was that although the waitresses explained each dish, the level of English varied and sometimes it was a struggle just to try to understand what they were saying. No fault to them though. Definitely recommend this place.

Soft music plays in the background, enhancing the overall experience without overpowering conversation. ## Menu Offerings Potong’s menu is a celebration of Thai flavors, showcasing the country’s culinary heritage through a modern lens. The restaurant focuses on seasonal ingredients, ensuring that each dish is fresh and vibrant. ### Signature Dishes One of the highlights of the menu is the tasting menu, which offers a curated selection of dishes that reflect the chef’s creativity and skill. Each course is beautifully presented, transforming traditional Thai ingredients into artful plates. **Tom Yum Soup** is a standout dish, reimagined with a depth of flavor that elevates it beyond its classic form. The balance of spicy, sour, and savory notes is perfectly executed, leaving a lasting impression. The richness of the curry is complemented by fragrant rice, making it a comforting yet refined option. ### Desserts No meal at Potong would be complete without indulging in their exquisite desserts. The **Mango Sticky Rice** is a delightful reinterpretation of the classic, featuring layered textures and flavors that surprise and delight. It’s a perfect way to end the meal on a sweet note. ## Service The service at Potong is impeccable, characterized by professionalism and attentiveness.
