Very intimate fine dining experience! Really enjoyed every meal. The veal was rich buy had so much flavor, and the Crudo scallops was super light, and we really enjoyed the chocolate moose/ tart dessert. The three courses were plenty as they provided additional dishes to pair. This is the gourmet dining option at the Pearl Bora Bora resort. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect, but... This was for my wife's birthday dinner, during a ten-day trip. I used the form on the resort website to ask about a birthday cake, specifically a ricotta cheesecake. Sure, no problem! So, I reserved a table for 6:30. Mind you, this was weeks in advance. By email. In English. The day before, I confirmed the cheesecake order. Just to be sure. So, we get to the restaurant and, as we walk up, the maitre d'hotel greats us by name! We ordered the three course meal... but were still served a complimentary appetizer and a few other treats between courses. Oh, and the service was impeccable. Never intrusive but extremely attentive. The menu options were... interesting. I'm a picky eater so I was a little concerned. If I survived the meal, you will too! There was one item that I found basically inedible... it seemed to be a tuna mousse? My wife will eat just about anything, and ate it but found it not terribly appealing. Anyway, we had ordered dessert off the menu... the cheesecake was a surprise. When the time came for dessert, our waiter brought out a small cheesecake with a single candle on it. We weren't sure what dessert would look like, anyway, so my wife didn't realize what it was until he told her. Oh, and it was very, very good! They put half of it away and we had it at lunch the next day. They even put a small chocolate "notecard" on the cheesecake with "Happy Birthday" on it. One note: From the photos on the resort website, it looks like the restaurant opens out into the garden. The garden is there, but there is floor-to-ceiling glass between it and the climate controlled dining room. Gourmet dinner at the resort. We opted for the 7-course set menu with 7 wine pairings. Excellent selection and excellent cuisine. The atmosphere is refined, intimate, and very romantic. Stunning view from a small Japanese-style outdoor garden with a stream and bridges.
