We had an amazingly good evening meal at Pist4cchi. The service was friendly and attentive; the staff are knowledgeable about the food and wine. We went for the Tablelands Mushroom Tagliatelle and the Gnochetto al Granchio. To be honest, we wanted to try everything on the menu, it’s wonderful. You won’t find the usual list of standard Italian restaurant dishes on their menu, it’s way more appealing and there’s something for everyone. Both of our dishes were exceptionally tasty and perfectly cooked. We also shared a lovely bottle of Kris 2023 Pinot Grigio. The other guests’ meals also looked amazing. Next time we are in Cairns we will definitely be back with big appetites to try more of the menu. Highly recommend! My partner and I came here earlier in the week and the food was incredible. It was the best gnocchi I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of gnocchi). We both got an entree, main and dessert. I got the Sfera al cioccolato for dessert and it was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone in Cairns! The staff were also lovely and were sure to check on any ingredients as I’m pregnant so there’s a lot I unfortunately can’t eat 😭 Really good experience! Carpaccio, spaghetti with polipetti, penne with genovese ragù were simply delicious. Even the garlic bread. Moka tiramisù was not bad but in a really Italian restaurant it should be made with mascarpone, not with cream. Something not really good, in a really Italian restaurant, a portion of bread should be free of charge, and not be forced to take the garlic one from the menu, paying (personal, Italian , opinion) By the way, this place is very recommended, the food is generally really good and not a fake Italian restaurant like many others seen around, even in Cairns, selling “carbonara” with “wine cream sauce” (?????).

We had the lamb shoulder for 2 people and the polenta as the appetizer. The lamb was falling apart from the bone. We asked if they could do without the wine sauce and they were very welcoming. The meat is enough almost for 3 people if you get maybe 2 appetizers. It’s a lot of meat!! The polenta was so fresh and hot. We really liked our dinner there. No one was smoking like previous reviews. We sat outside and had a great time. We also ordered 2 dessert and expected better dessert, but still give 5 star since the food was amazing.
