I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. The place was almost full, but they still found a spot for me. A polite staff member who spoke good English explained everything and helped me choose my order. Even though it was busy, the wait wasn’t long. I ordered molokhia and mombar — both were delicious and the portions were generous. I couldn’t even finish my medium portion, so I took the rest with me and fed some cats on the way. Great place — I definitely recommend it. Food’s genuinely great. First floor wasn’t open during lunch and looked pretty rough. Wait staff were a bit difficult to find from time to time. Menu’s only in Arabic but the staff can help you order. If you want to eat at a local spot in Cairo this is the place! Food was delicious, atmosphere was everything.

Food’s genuinely great. First floor wasn’t open during lunch and looked pretty rough. Wait staff were a bit difficult to find from time to time. Menu’s only in Arabic but the staff can help you order.

The food was surprisingly tasty, even though the place had a bit of a rough vibe. I didn’t order the usual stuff because I’m not a fan of organs, and they’re known for them. But the meat we got was super tender and seasoned perfectly. It was still satisfying, even though it wasn’t what they’re famous for. There were a few burnt bits on the cover, but it didn’t affect the taste inside. The salad was a bit sad because it looked like it had been sitting out for a while. It wasn’t fresh at all. And for the price of three dishes and two salads, we got free service, so the final price is 660, which is a plus. I’ll definitely go back to try more of their food, except for the salad.
