OVERALL Best restaurant in Peru! From foodies who have traveled the world seeking culinary excellence, over four continents and 50 plus cities—not “top list” chasers, but rather finesse and authenticity seekers. Forget overhyped restaurants in Lima. If you’re looking for authentic Peruvian fine dining (not tacky fusion), is the real deal. From the gorgeous location and romantic ambience, to the warm and meticulous service from the staff, to the integrity and effort put into the food and plating, OQRE makes sure that you are treated like royalty when in their hands. FOOD For starters, we had the traditional ceviche that was absolutely the best out of all 10 we’ve tried. Then the Berenjena Braseada (braised eggplant), which melts in your mouth and leaves an aromatic smoky aftertaste in the palate. For main course, we ordered the Sudado Cosqueno (catch of the day, which was whitefish), which came drenched in sudado sauce, composed primarily of sautéed tomatoes & onions. And the Paiche Costa Y Selva (one of the largest fish in the world, from the Amazonian coast and jungle), which came coated with an Amazonian Demi-glacé, banana tortellini with cumin, and cocona chalaca. For dessert, we received a twin-heart shaped chocolate cake by surprise for our anniversary celebration. SERVICE Sonccito (“Little Heart”, nickname for Soncco) absolutely touched our hearts with his warm personality, and attentiveness to detail. Even though we were dressed a little too casually for such a refined and upscale restaurant, Sonccito went out of his way to make us feel welcomed in every manner imaginable. He carefully explained each dish in detail, as though telling his own childhood story. When he found out it was our anniversary, he brought us a flower basket and went outside the restaurant to take a photo of us through the glass to capture the flowers in the foreground, and oil painting in the background. Later, the orchestra came to perform in the restaurant. Sonccito made sure that we didn’t miss it by explaining to us that this was a very rare event, and that the opera singers were only performing there because they were traveling through the area. They sang Carmen, the Godfather theme song, and Don’t Cry For Me Argentina with such beauty that it brought tears to my eyes (and I’m not one who easily cries over musical performances). As if all this were not enough, Sonccito surprised us with a dessert plate that had the words “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate icing at the end. This really hit home with us because it’s exactly how we became a lifelong couple. (And we didn’t tell him!) I don’t know if there are enough words to express the wondrous experience we had. We truly felt like Sonccito was our fairy godfather that evening, turning our pumpkin into a carriage that took us to a magical world. Thank you Sonccito!! Thank you Antony! Thank you OQRE!! This memory will live on forever in our hearts. Fantastic Restaurant, one of our best experiences in Peru. The setting is fantastic. It is in a hotel that used to be a monastery. The service was fantastic. The waiter was very attentive to all the intolerance that my wife and father-in-law had (gluten and dairy). I had the Caesar salad, which generally is a boring plate and most of the times is the only way to get a salad, but this one was very interesting. Very flavorful not the typical Caesar salad you would find. Would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in Cusco, the ingredients are mostly local, but there is a very interesting element of international cuisine. Probably the best restaurant in all of Cusco. Traditional Peruvian food locally sourced, Beautiful location, super friendly staff with beyond great service. It’s almost like you’re in a meditative state while being here.

This place deserves all of the hype it gets and some more! I was there a few days ago with my friends, and the level of attention to detail in the service and food was unmatched. Mind you, I’m a tough New Yorker but the knowledgeable wait staff like wilberth Sonco makes you feel at home. He went out of his way to make wonderful suggestions like the ceviche and the pasta with shrimp. He also asked the kitchen to surprise my friend with dessert for her bday and the opera singer to step by when the cake was delivered. He literally left us all speechless and in tears. This was the most amazing dinning experience of my life! Thanks to the whole staff and yummy food. I’ll certainly be back.

Food was good but not the best you can have in the area. The atmosphere was very quiet and the crowd was mostly hotel guests. Service was not my favorite. I would rather explore other local restaurants in the city over this next time.
