Top tier, and consistently so. The crostini with chicken liver pate was incredibly rich and balanced, far superior to others we have tried. The tartufo pasta was fragrant and creamy, The octopus gnocchi was so tender and went well with the umami from the octopus and tangy kick from the sauce. The seafood pasta was just packed with seafood umami flavour. Burrata with oranges and local honey - wow - a real art of balance that allowed my madame to enjoy burrata, something that has been difficult to achieve. Service was that of quiet professionalism - respectful and dignified. We love this place, perhaps the best that we have had in Italy. It was the first restaurant we chose to eat for our first night in Florence and for the rest of our holidays we didn’t want to book anywhere else. It is the perfect, most authentic Italian restaurant. We had dinner 3 days in a row and every plate was so delicious! We’re not regretting that we didn’t eat anywhere else. I totally recommend trying the burrata stuffed ravioli with the best tomato sauce that I ever tried, the caesars salad and the pasta with the wild boar sauce. The prices were very reasonable. Also the stuff was very kind and helpful. And the atmosphere very calm and cozy. If we’re ever getting back in Florence, we’re surely going back to Il Morellino! Bravissimo! This place truly deserves its outstanding reputation (average 4.9 rating from ~850 reviews as of 2025). I must say—it’s absolutely worth it! The dishes were AMAZING—especially the truffle tortellini, which was simply wow. The service was perfect: the staff were attentive, friendly, and happy to consult with us to choose the right dish based on our preferences. Another highlight was the timing: the food was prepared quickly but without compromising quality, making it an ideal stop while exploring the city. Overall, an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommended!

Great restaurant that serves delicious, but simple food. Pear ravioli - which is a fairly typical dish in Florence was very good. Also tried the Chicken Parmesan, which felt a little like a node to tourists. It was very good. Not breaded like it typically is in the US, so it felt a little healthier. Would definitely recommend.

A must! Try to reserve your table ahead. The food was honestly so amazing and the service was top notch. They are a great team running the restaurant. Make this a must when considering dinner options. I had the truffle risotto and my husband had a meat option with potatoes. The balsamic was heavenly!!!
