I ordered the octopus It is just ok. Not even yummy. Service is good Update : I complained because I really was hungry and I try to eat it and fake enjoying it. But I couldn’t finish it because I was just savouring the hot sauce and extra salt I had to ad. I ordered an octopus in Cascais and it was delicious. So I know the flavour. The waitress realized something was off. She was accommodating and offered an exchange ( 25 minutes wait) but the thought to please their customers is important. Thank you for caring. Since I had to wait for my replacement meal. I ordered bread, wine and pate. Disappointed the pate was like in a presentation like the butter you get in economy class in an airplane. It was patê de sardines I didn’t know. Needless to say I did not eat it and I did not complain. I was expecting the average patê. In the menu it was not specified. The bread was good. There are so many options in Lisbon and in the area, YOU DON'T NEED TO COME HERE! Tourist Trap! I was 7 min late to my reservation. Fair, I was late, but the first thing he said to me was: "You're late". Followed by "you see the queues we have so many customers." At this point, he had already given my table away. I'm better than that, and if you're considering eating here... YOU are better than this! I'm thinking, ok, I don't need to eat here. And within a 7 min walk, I was at "Taberna Restaurant". Amazing Local Portuguese Tapas, 4.7 rated, 3k+ Google reviews, fresh scallops, squid, veal, shrimp, and more. amazing staff with friendly attitude, they bring the menu to you and explain every line item on the menu. The place was full but hey...they accommodated me right away but even if I had to wait, the attitude was at least of a normal decent human being. Am I petty? Maybe. But definitely check out this restaurant, it's amazing. Left their card as one of my photos here. And to close it off, it took me 7 minutes to write this review. The beauty of 7 minutes can make a difference. We walked in for lunch without reservation and had a great time! The servers were friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. We got lemonades, mussels, octopus rice and seafood paella. Octopus rice was almost like a risotto with tons of tender octopus in rich tomato sauce. Paella was the opposite - rice with various seafood like shrimp, clams and squid on a wide, hot pan with thin layer of rice. They were very different but equally tasty. Mussels were a bit on the drier side but it was still very good. But they served complimentary sherry which was a nice finish to the meal. We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend you to visit if you’re ever in Lisbon!

We had lunch at this restaurant and really enjoyed our experience. The octopus was tender, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. We had also ordered the paella and there was a small mix-up with the ingredients, but the waitress and the owner were immediately attentive and very kind in handling the situation. Their care and courtesy impressed us even more than the quality of the food, which was still excellent. It’s wonderful to find a place where, in addition to great food, you can feel true attention and respect for the customers. We will definitely be coming back!

We followed the ratings and reviews to this petite restaurant, which we almost missed while walking past. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by friendly and attentive staff, who looked after us throughout our visit. The menu is small but well thought out, offering something for everyone. We started with olives and Nisa cheese, which made for a pleasant, simple beginning. For mains, my daughter had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and served with fresh vegetables, while I chose the chicken paella — a generous and flavourful dish with plenty of tender chicken. Both dishes were delicious and ones we’d happily order again. For dessert, we tried the cheesecake and mango mousse. While enjoyable enough, they appeared to be shop-bought rather than freshly made, and we likely wouldn’t choose them again. Overall, we had a lovely experience. The cosy atmosphere adds to the charm, though if you prefer more space around you while dining, this might not be your ideal setting. Still, for friendly service and tasty, honest food, Taverna Alfacinha is well worth a visit.
