Casa de los Azulejos is an absolute must see when visiting Mexico City!!! The moment you step inside, it feels like you’re traveling back in time to the 1920s, the stunning architecture, the tilework, the murals, the mosaics and the historic charm make it one of the most beautiful places in the city, in my opinion. The atmosphere is simply amazing, elegant yet welcoming, and the food is truly delicious. And very affordable… I especially want to highlight the exceptional service from Esteban, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He was attentive, helpful, and had such a positive attitude, truly a great example of excellent hospitality. Esteban nos dio un servicio excelente. The only thing that slightly shadowed the experience was the attitude of the cashier, Donaji. When I approached to pay, she seemed distracted and was playing on her phone, which caused an unnecessary wait. I don’t mean to sound entitled, but acknowledging guests and valuing their time is an important part of good service. Donaji, en su teléfono mientras esperaba para pagar mi cuenta y ni siquiera saludar ni nada, se me hizo un poco profesional de su parte. It stood out mainly because everyone else, especially Esteban, was so professional and friendly. Overall, Casa de los Azulejos is a must visit. Fantastic local food, incredible atmosphere, and timeless beauty. I’d absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone visiting CDMX!!! The Casa de los Azulejos (“House of Tiles”) is one of Mexico City’s most photogenic landmarks. Its exterior is covered in striking blue-and-white Talavera tiles, making every corner a perfect backdrop for photos. Step inside, and you’ll find an elegant, historic interior that feels both grand and welcoming. At the heart of the building is a beautiful courtyard, now home to the Sanborns Café, where you can sit beneath ornate balconies and stained-glass windows. The food and drinks are solid, and while you’re here for the atmosphere more than fine dining, the experience of enjoying a coffee or meal in such a unique setting is unforgettable. The food was great, the prices weren’t too high, but what really made it wonderful was our waiter Antonio. He was very patient helping us order and even made sure that the food came out perfectly with all of our adjustments. He even catered to my preference of zero spicy-ness. Definitely recommended as a stop to have some good food and soak up the atmosphere.

What a great atmosphere to dine in! It feels like fine dining without the stuffiness. We each had a cocktail and they were very good. For food we ordered tortilla soups to start and the Enchiladas Mexicanas platter to share. It came with bread and tortilla chips as well as garlic bread. Our son got a hamburger and fries. The flavor in the soup and enchiladas were amazing! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and we got full value for the money here.

After a brief wait (10-15 min), we had lunch for four at 3pm on a Saturday with no reservation. The interior patio has beautiful light, and the atmosphere is so peaceful. A violinist played throughout our meal. Service was efficient, the food was good, and the kids loved it.
