I don't review often, generally only if its exceptionally amazing or exceptionally bad. Unfortunately this place was the latter for us, and as the reviews were so good, I felt I should warn others. If you are in CDMX on holiday, there are too many amazing places to see, to waste your precious time queuing here. The service was rubbish and the food was underwhelming and small portions. The coffee was cold and not very nice. We were supposed to get refills but they didn't bother. We were definitely forgotten a no of times, and staff were so busy that it was difficult to resolve the issues until bill time. Then when we pointed them out, they didn't care and asked how much we wanted to tip! I suspect this place is a product of its own previous success and now instead of caring, the staff just want the busy day over. Perhaps it depends on which day you go, in which case, is it worth it? A big no from us, and everything here had been so good til now! Don't be fooled, find somewhere else. Or cheer yourself up with pastries from the pasteleria around the corner afterwards- you'll need it. A traditional Mexican spot in the heart of Centro. The building itself is beautiful; I’m not sure if it’s a historical landmark, but it definitely has that charm. I ordered the breaded shrimp, which were absolutely delicious, and the guac and chips were solid as well. The view from the window seat overlooking the Juliet balcony added to the experience, making it a great spot to bring a friend visiting CDMX for the first time. To top it off, we even stumbled upon a carnival parade, which was such a nice surprise! At first when I walked in, manager seemed kindda bothered I asked for table for 5. He told me I had to wait, eventhough there were various big tables available. I had no problem with waiting, we know how it works in the restaurant business, and plus we were on vacation!!! But our waitress, Laura from Puebla! She was TREMENDOUS! Again, being we were tourists, we did not understand the diffrent dishes, so I asked her to assist! With a great energy she did! When back in CDMX I will deff visit Don Toribio again! Not only for the food, but to check on Laura! She is a great asset to the restaurant!!! Muchas Gracias Laura de Puebla 🌎👌🙏

Oh my god the food and breakfast here are incredible and so affordable! We were strolling around the streets and spontaneously went in for a breakfast. Best decision ever. We had delicious food with juice and coffee refill included. Great place to visit and eat in.
