We were fortunate to get an outdoor table without a reservation on a Sunday evening. Greeted with warm, welcoming smiles and seated right away under heat lamps that were perfect for the sunny but chilly evening. Not all restaurants in the area have heaters, and some had them but didn't turn them on. It was very nice to dine outdoors comfortably while enjoying the beautiful environment of Place Jacques Cartier which is so full of vibrant colors. Maeva was the perfect server. Friendly and courteous, attentive and quite charming, she only enhanced our dining experience. The food was delicious. We had the calamari, focaccia bread, and burrata e prosciutto, all of which were very good. Then we had the spaghetti amatriciana and linguine pescatore, both of which were delicious and satisfying. The passion fruit mojito was good as well. Overall, between the comfortable atmosphere, the wonderful service, and delicious food, you cannot go wrong dining here. We look forward to dining here again on our next visit to beautiful Montreal! Bon appetit! I visited Jacopo on Monday, November 3rd, around 6 pm. I appreciated that we were seated without a reservation and that most of the staff we interacted with were kind. The food was okay overall, unfortunately, nothing stood out for the price point. I would have expected at least one dish to feel memorable. The main issue was the service from our server (a blond male). When taking our order, he literally said “Ok… what do you want?” in a curt tone, barely made eye contact, and overall seemed irritated with us for no reason. (Note that I don’t even have his name because he didn’t take the time to introduce himself neither the menu, anything…) At first, we thought it might have been a language or cultural misunderstanding, but we later noticed he was speaking fluent English and being very warm, friendly, and attentive with the table right next to us. That contrast felt really uncomfortable and affected the whole experience. He also forgot to bring the oil and vinegar with the focaccia and didn’t check in on us at any point until we asked for the bill. Additionally, the bathroom could use more frequent cleaning and maintenance. One stall had no paper towels, both toilets were splattered, the soap dispenser was damaged, and there were visible marks and dirt on the wall near the hand dryer. Overall, while other staff were lovely, the experience didn’t match what it’s expected for a restaurant of this level, so I wouldn’t return or recommend based on this visit. We had a great experience at Jacopo in Old Montreal! We had a reservation for later in the evening but tried walking in a bit earlier around 7:30pm on a Sunday — they weren’t accepting walk-ins at that time, so we were lucky to have booked ahead. Definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, just in case. The ambience was wonderful — the heated patio is beautifully lit, the main floor has a cozy, darker vibe, and the upper level feels more open and spacious. It’s a surprisingly large restaurant, and despite the buzz, the music wasn’t too loud, which made it easy to chat and enjoy conversation. Our server was super friendly and spoke English, which made everything smooth. The mushroom gnocchi was delicious — perfect texture, great flavour, and just the right amount of sauce. They also have a nice selection of wines, and our food came out in about 15–20 minutes. We noticed a few birthday celebrations happening, and it’s clear Jacopo is great for groups or special occasions, with large tables available. Overall, the food was excellent, prices were fair (around $15–20 for appetizers and $25–35 for mains), and the setting makes it a perfect spot for a date night, dinner with friends, or a family outing. Highly recommend!

Went for MTL a table and everything was delicious, started with a salad and the fish for a main, finally tiramisu for dessert. They have a very nice wine selection and the atmosphere is very nice! The second floor has a great ambiance and decor. Will definitely be coming back.

We visited Jacopo to celebrate my sister's birthday. There were four of us. The atmosphere was super bohemian and elegant, perfect for a special occasion. The staff suggested a delicious red wine as a starter, followed by spectacular pasta, and not to mention the spectacular serving of the signature dish! Wow, I would go back a thousand times! I would love to!🥳🤩🤩🤩
