My wife and I visited Nassau for the day on a cruise. I had looked for good places to eat, to try and sample the local, famous dishes, and this place came up with a 4.9 stars so I marked it. My wife wanted to see the animals and gardens at the Ardrastra preserve, so we took a cab there, and when done walked about 10 minutes to The New Duff. I think a cab ride is better; there are times when you're walking right next to the road surface, and there is a ton of humidity in the Bahamas. Anyway, we walked in to a small cafe-ish place and the first thing was that the people were really nice. We looked at the TV screen menus, and saw a bunch of teas/drinks on one and breakfast on the other. No sign of the local must-haves that it was rated well for. So we ordered some drinks and a cinnamon roll. We went to sit in the window and there was a small, laminated menu there that had all the stuff I was looking for. Off of that we ordered the jerk chicken buns and the guava duff. What's really nice is they have this little historical display and part of it tells the story of the duff; so yeah, a must read while waiting for your food. The cinnamon roll was very nice, but not above and beyond all other cinnamon rolls. The buns are really like mini-tacos and the shell is this soft, white, dough, very similar to what you'd get in a Chinese dim-sum bun. So it's a puffy, spongy thing that they curl and put the filling in. These were very tasty. I'd recommend getting at least one per person. They have different flavors, but were told the jerk chicken were best and they did not disappoint. We then dug into the duff. This was very tasty, again, seemingly made of the same white, puffy dough as the buns with chunks of guava in the bottom. But this isn't wrapped, this is a unit unto itself. They have different fillings, too, but the guava is the famous one. It is then generously covered in the sauce which is rich and sweet and makes the whole thing delicious. My wife and I split one of these and that was fine. A nice place. They need to include the buns and duffs on the TV menus, just rotate them with the breakfast items, as it is a little confusing when you're looking for duff and buns and don't see them. Great place. I think this is an important stop if you're in Nassau in order to sample the best of the local cuisine. We came here with my French friends, place was reccommended to us, and they did not disappoint. The nice decorations, the island feel and you can see them preparing the dough out front. Cameron took our order, it was easy and simple, and it was a short wait before we got our food. Everything was good, but the best was the JERK CHICKEN for the meal and the guava duff here is off the chain. You get your money's worth, definitely recommend ! Simply a wonderful place! Off the beaten path in Nassau, but well worth the trip. The food is fantastic and so are the people. Had the Guava Duff and it was incredible - fluffy, just the right sweetness, and the sauce was perfect (getting double next time). The buns are delicious, I will remember these for a while. Got the vegetable, jerk chicken, and ginger pork for the first 3 and then had to get the more (the curry mutton, and jerk chicken, ginger pork again). If you're in Nassau and want something other than tourist fare, make the trip here, you'll thank yourself.

Me and my husband loved this place! Went here on our honeymoon cruise. It’s clean, close to the beach, and very affordable. Miss Sugar was more than happy to give us a little background and history on Duff pastries and breakdown the ingredients of what we were eating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FRENCH TOAST! (Caramelized coconut in picture) The drinks were refreshing and on the sweeter side. (Get less sugar than you think)

Great price affordable!! Rarely do I give a five-star, but The New Duff absolutely deserves it. I had the pulled pork, egg, and cheese—seasoned to perfection. Then came the guava duff… OMG. The coconut French toast? Thick, flavorful, and top-tier. Drinks were just as fresh—I went with the guava ginger lemonade and it hit all the right notes. This spot is a gem. Don’t miss it.
