This was one of the best meals we had when in Japan. It was one of the first. We were staying at The Westin which was a 2 minute walk so perfect after a long day's sightseeing seeing. Super friendly staff and although the menu is all in Japanese the owner speaks enough English to help you. We really enjoyed the whole experience and were lucky to sit by where they cook the good. It was all delicious. As some helpful person put on their review its no 11 on the map of restaurants once you find the right building by the Umeda Sky building. Osaka’s Sweet Secret: Amazing Okonomiyaki That Was Worth the Wait! If you’re looking for a true, hidden Japanese experience, you need to hunt down this little restaurant! It’s tucked away inside an office building, in a complex that mimics an old Japanese street—a nostalgic entrance to a different world, even before you place your order. We knew it was worth the wait when we saw the long line, and indeed: the wait was worth every minute! The moment we sat down, we realized we had found a special place. The seating itself is an integral part of the experience: we sat right in front of the heated 'Teppan' table, and the food was served straight to us—hot, sizzling, and ready to eat immediately. Then came the dish: the Okonomiyaki was nothing short of perfect. Precisely cooked, rich in flavor, with an unforgettable sweet-and-savory sauce. It’s a dish that comforts the soul and satisfies the palate. In summary: If you are in the area, ignore the strange location and look for the old street. This is an incredibly delicious and authentic local experience! Highly recommend for all Japanese food lovers! I visited Okonomiyaki Kiji Umeda Sky Building again after many years, hoping to relive a fond memory. On my first visit, I was warmly welcomed by the older owner, and it left a great impression. Unfortunately, this time was a deeply disappointing experience. When we arrived, the staff asked if we were Chinese. We said we were from Taiwan, and they kindly explained the menu in Chinese. However, it turned out that the items we ordered were substituted with more expensive versions on the bill. For example, we ordered a specific item, but they charged us for a pricier one. The same happened with the yakisoba—we were charged for the most expensive option without ordering it. At first, the staff pretended to be too busy to address our concerns. Only after we insisted did they change the prices on the bill—but even then, we realized we were still overcharged. What hurt the most was that we came with full trust in Japanese hospitality and were met with what felt like deliberate exploitation. After the experience, we checked online and discovered other foreign visitors had similar complaints. This raises serious concerns about whether this is a recurring issue targeting non-Japanese customers. If you're planning to visit this restaurant, please double-check your order and review your bill carefully. What was once a place of fond memories has now become a source of disappointment. I hope this review can help others avoid the same experience.

If you are foreigners, they will overchage you. I saw few reviews about overchage but I naively believed that it would not happen to me if I check the price using CharGpT and Google translation. He recommended us a mixed okonomiyaki so we ordered one. But they charged us more expensive one. I said this is not what we had ordered but he kept saying this is what we had ordered. I used chatGPT to check what we ordered and the price of that menu. But he insisted that this is the correct receipt. Also we ordered one yakisoba but he charged us 2 servings. As I was pissed off and couldn't be bothered arguing with a dishonest guy, I just piad it and left. Do not go there, if you really wannt to go, when you order, ask for the total price and ask him to write it down and take a pic. Well I still think they will charge you more saying there's a miss communication.
