I am sad to write this review. My husband and I came here after being recommended by a friend, we were unfortunately disappointed. The ribeye steaks we ordered were the toughest I have ever had, and completely unseasoned. The green beans were extremely over cooked, and the “salad” was just five or six pieces of lettuce with a spoon of dressing thrown on top. Worst of all, was the service. Our first server was exceedingly rude, and was clearly irritated when we asked for his recommendations. Notably, the steaks, which we ordered medium-rare both came out blue rare (cold to the touch in the centre). When we brought this up to a different waitress, we were treated like we had no idea what medium rare was (see the photo attached) and she insisted this was “french medium rare”. Zero apologies. Offered to re-cook the steak, but having seen previous reviews about bad experiences with this, we declined. We aren’t confrontational people, we didn’t want to cause a scene or make the people around us uncomfortable by arguing with the staff and voicing how we felt, so we just decided to let it go. The way the staff spoke to us also made us feel less comfortable voicing our concerns. At the end when asked if the food was good as we paid the bill, we gently and politely mentioned again that the steak wasn’t cooked the way we had liked, and we were quickly spoken down to saying that we essentially had no idea what we were talking about and that it was “french medium rare”. Blatant gaslighting. Again, no kindness, or warmth. Only a terse and accusing comment from her saying “well if you didn’t like it you should have asked for it to be cooked again”. It doesn’t really make you feel great as a customer to have the blame shifted to you for the mistake of the restaurant. I understand things happen in a busy kitchen, and I appreciate the offer to have the steak re-cooked, and I acknowledge that it was our choice to decline this. Even if the steak had been re-cooked perfectly, the part that made this experience negative was really the way we were treated by our server. We were made to feel ignorant and small when all we did was to point out that our food wasn’t made the way we asked. If any kind of accountability and retribution for the steak had been offered, or at the very least if the staff had been warm, and kind, I would not have felt the need to leave this review. But here we are. Reading other reviews, we are clearly not the only ones who have had this experience. I hope the staff and owners can take reviews like this and the other similar ones seriously, for the sake of future patrons. Unfortunately, my recommendation based on this experience is to not spend your time and money here. Paris has many beautiful restaurants with great food and warm, genuine service. Based on our experience, Robert et Louise is not one of them. It was my second visit after 6 years and I was glad I made a reservation. As I was alone, I sat at the counter which was lovely anyway. I had the Smoked Herring, the Lamb Chops and Crème Brûlée as dessert. All so good! Definitely will come back, but recommend you reserve in advance. A lovely cosy French restaurant - great hospitality, and the steaks, paired with Beaujolais red wine...delicious. I had T-bone and my friend had ribeye which came with 2 sides from choices salad, potato and green beans. Does get busy so reservation is recommended.

We had our first and last dinner in Paris at this unique restaurant, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the entire experience felt like a true Parisian moment. It’s incredible value for the quality, and while I’d highly recommend booking ahead, we were lucky enough to be seated both times just by walking in. The service was absolutely lovely—welcoming, attentive, and genuine. The steak is an absolute must, and the escargots and duck leg were unforgettable. When I return to Paris, this will be my very first stop.

Fantastic Meal at Robert et Louise! The escargot was rich and perfectly done. The T-bone steak was juicy with a great char, paired nicely with sautéed potatoes and fresh greens. Cozy spot, great service, and amazing food. Definitely worth it!
