We first tried to go to sister restaurant Mare by Meia-Nau, but there was a big line and it doesn't take reservations. So we reserved at Meia-Nau (reservations required). The menu is extensive and the decor is nice. The food was good but not exceptional for the price. We had the grilled sardines, the fish soup and the seafood rice. The soup was good but small, the seafood in the rice was overcooked and the sardines weren't as good as others we had in Porto. Service was average. The highlight was the fondant cake for dessert, which takes 20 mins to prepare. The cake was decadent with a rich caramel flavor and served hot right from the oven. Overall, I believe there is better seafood in Porto. The restaurant has a good design. The food presentation is also good, although the taste itself was just okay for me. The seafood rice was warm and comfortable especially during the cold, but I felt that I was looking for more flavor (but maybe that’s because I’m Asian). Make sure to reserve as it was very full. Service was friendly, although when we arrived for our reservation, our table wasn’t ready yet. We loved this place so much that we unusually ate here three nights during a five-night stay in Porto. The food quality was exceptional. Compared to UK prices the value was amazing. The choice of menu is varied and the choice of totally fresh fish was excellent. Most evenings we could choose from 6 or 7 different fish. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly yet courteous and highly efficient. The wines are good quality and great value . This should be on everyone’s radar if you like seafood. Absolutely brilliant!

This restaurant is very popular among Chinese social media users, so you’ll often see Chinese and Taiwanese guests here. Their dining style is a bit different – sharing main dishes instead of the starter–main–dessert order, and usually not tipping. But the staff remain very friendly. I had clams and a one person seafood rice, both tasty and generous. It’s great that solo travellers can request single portions, and the wine is reasonably priced at around €4 a glass. Even the restroom was impressively clean.

This is a lovely spot that serves delicious seafood rice, cooked perfectly with rich flavors and generous portions of fresh seafood. The mussels are especially tasty—plump, juicy, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax over a leisurely meal. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a satisfying local dish, this place is definitely worth visiting.
