Beautiful restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. We ordered a variety of pastas, each cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The margaritas were also excellent—well-balanced and refreshing. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that we would be happy to repeat. Restaurant Ophelia in Quebec City offered a lively dining experience with an impressive start; the fresh oysters and generous seafood platter were excellent, showcasing top-quality ingredients and clean, briny flavors. Unfortunately, the main course of salmon, though well-cooked, was overwhelmed by an overly heavy red pepper sauce that masked its natural delicacy. Dessert redeemed the evening with a delightful cigare au chocolat, rich and well executed. While the food had its highlights, the ambiance leaned toward the bustling side, with a crowded and noisy atmosphere that detracted from the average-above average setting. Booked this restaurant in advance of our trip for a Tuesday night birthday dinner. The restaurant was about half full, but they seemed to not have enough staff on for service. We had to wait so long for anyone to take a drink or food order. We almost left. For appetizers we ordered the Octopus Carpaccio (the mushroom and onions in the centre are off balance for the rest of the dish, but the octopus is good), Caviar and Scallops (this is delicious) and the Halibut Ceviche (also very good). We then had the Low Tide with extra Shrimp and Oysters. The oysters are great, but the rest was either ok or bad. All our shrimp were very overcooked and almost dry. Needed to add lots of cocktail sauce to these. The Octopus salad has capers that just take over the entire dish and the Tuna tataki had this thick balsamic sauce that was so overpowering it was gross. Definitely recommend the appetizers, but nothing else was good here.

I went out with my husband for a special birthday dinner today, but it was a disaster. The food was extremely salty, and the seafood wasn’t fresh at all. The atmosphere was more like a noisy club, its feeling was not restaurant.which made it really unpleasant. My birthday dinner in Quebec was completely ruined, and now I feel no good.On top of that, the prices were outrageous for such very very poor quality.

First I will address the service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and helpful in making our choices. He answered several questions and made recommendations. At times he was swamped but his attitude was positive and professional. His command of English and French was outstanding. I inquired his name and he responded William. If you are fortunate enough to have him as your waiter, your experience will be top notch. We were hoping to sit outside but we had neglected reservations and we were seated indoors. The booth we were seated in was comfortable and the decor was lovely. Our orders varied from steak, salmon, braised wagyu tagliatelle, the last being brisket and octopus. Each was outstanding in not only flavor but presentation. For dessert we chose a chocolate mousse cigar. The picture shows its amazing creativity, but does most show the delectable taste. Our last night in Quebec City was incredible. Was it pricey, yes, but we felt every cent was worth this impeccable experience. Bravo, Restaurant Ophelia!
