I ate at Lilia last night. This was such an amazing culinary experience. The flavours were so interesting, and many were novel for an Australian - it was great to break out of the food trends of Sydney to try something innovative and beautiful. I was really keen to find a Brazilian-version of "farm to table" and I was so glad I found this one. I sat thinking about all the flavours in the mushroom and baroa salad. The fermented tomato was my favourite. The staff were very friendly, even helping me to practice my Portuguese (they offered an English menu but I refused). This was the perfect start to my Brazilian culinary adventure and it's highly recommended. So attentive and kind. Photo is of the matcha and yoghurt dessert. Wow! We really loved the fish from the main courses as well as the beef. The oysters were also nice. Overall we felt like the food was a bit too salty thus I took off one star. Service was really lovely and everyone in the staff spoke English which we really appreciated. We had both a glass of orange wine from Brazil which I really recommend. Lastly the chocolate dessert was to die for!! Great culinary experience in an informal restaurant with very good value for money. The dishes are original, different and they play with different tastes and textures. The presentation and the crockery are also a plus. Small portions but superb quality. Totally worth it.

Lilia – A Hidden Gem in Rio de Janeiro Tucked away in Rio's historic Lapa district, Lilia offers a dining experience that seamlessly blends creativity with Brazilian culinary traditions. During our visit, we indulged in the eleven-course tasting menu, each dish thoughtfully crafted to highlight the freshness and quality of local ingredients. The restaurant's ambiance is both unpretentious and inviting, featuring exposed brick walls and an industrial-chic aesthetic that adds to its charm. The attentive service and the kitchen's dedication to innovation make Lilia a standout choice for those seeking high-quality cuisine in a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere

If the meals are goods for the majority of them, I have to signal that the service is not good at all. They don’t say the price of the meals, made mistakes during the orders ( they bring two times the dessert and made you pay for it). Also the explanations are very hesitating. And I don’t forget to mention that I had to ask 4 Times to get a simple cola zéro. When I tell the waiters the mistakes, no gestures are made, just a « apologies » taking the paiement at the same time. Bref, very disappoint of the service. It ruins the expérience.
