We were feeling a little bit tired from walking around the pier, decided to take a break here, tried their clam chowder, garlic fries, and mission margarita and they were all absolutely delicious! They actually have seating right next to the water which was a delightful surprise so you get amazing views whilst enjoying the food and drinks too. Service was absolutely delightful, highly recommended! Price guide (as of Sep 2025): Margarita double shot 20oz $18.95 Clam chowder cup $8.50 Fort point IPA $9.50 Garlic fries $9.50 SF emp mandates 5% $2.32 Tax 8.625% $4.21 Pier 39 has a treasure trove of placer to dine. PMSR was a nice little spot in our adventures for the day. The cocktails were a little too “perfumy” for our liking. We were expecting more of a rum punch kind of taste. Lobster was as fresh as can be expected. The fries were a surprise bonus of great outside crispness and tender inside. Clam chowder was top notch as well! Appetizer of crispy salmon bites were well worth it! A must get! The stylish decor was a bit off putting by the “Denny’s”esque salt and pepper shaker. I know I know. Sounds boughie. But it’s worth going through the trouble of keeping a top level asthetic Easy to get a reservation, we got sat at the windows looking towards the golden gate bridge at sunset and it was spectacular. We started with the crab cakes, and they had great flavor with a nice texture profile. My wife got the steak & shrimp and chow mein, she said it was the best surf and turf fusion she's ever had. I got the shellfish platter and it did not disappoint, everything was cooked exactly as it should be. No complaints besides it was a little noisy.

This restaurant hit the spot after our long day. All of my dishes were cooked to perfection. I tried the pomegranate margarita and it didn't disappoint. The customer service was good and the manager took good care of my friend for her bday with a nice surprise. We didn't have reservations but our party of 5 were quickly seated with a nice view of the pier. I definitely recommend the chowder, salmon, and the fries.

Pier Market is in a great location on Pier 39. I was excited to make this our “Big” dinner during our San Francisco trip given all the great reviews. I got the Cioppino which I thought missed the mark. The tomato based broth was flavorful, but the dish was over proportioned with pasta, instead of having a well balance of seafood like fish, mussels, clams, shrimp, and crab. There was barely any crab! My friend got the grilled chicken breast with rice and vegetables. He said it was “okay.” The bread and butter they bring out to the table was probably the highlight of the night. The service also left a lot to be desired. Our server seemed too busy to engage with us at all, or even offer house recommendations like you would expect at an establishment of this caliber and price point. She also never smiled. If you are looking for good seafood in San Francisco, skip this place. This is basically a tourist forfeiture and there are much better places in the bay area.
