Small restaurant managed by a self-made chef hidden in plain site. Clean, cosy, and very very tasty The atmosphere was amazing, very relaxing and soothing. The place is quite small with not more than 6 tables and less than 20 seats. The food is just incredible. Unique to what I've eaten up until now. The service is fast and kind, food comes out quickly and fresh. You can see the small team work quietly and efficiently in the kitchen. Great experience overall, for sure will come visit next time in Korea. Not cheap but well worth the price. It cost me 47,000 Won for 2 dishes, but I think it was enough for 1.5-2 people. I recently visited Hangong-Gan near Hongdae and had a fantastic dining experience. We ordered several dishes: the Schuan pepper chicken, the signature oven-cooked potato dish, the shrimp fried rice, the lamb crispy pancake, and the Japanese-style soy sauce chicken. Every dish was delicious, but the clear standout was the Schuan pepper chicken. It’s honestly the best Schuan-style dish I’ve ever had, the peppers were balanced perfectly with just the right amount of heat, matched by the sweetness of the sauce. The chicken itself was tender and juicy, and the cabbage layer underneath added a refreshing finish that tied everything together beautifully. The lamb crispy pancake was a bit tricky to eat, but the flavor more than made up for it, especially with the sauce. The signature potato dish was absolutely divine - comforting, flavorful, and so addictive that we couldn’t stop eating it. The soy sauce chicken was also very good, and my daughter happily finished off the shrimp fried rice, which was a hit at the table. Overall, Hangong-Gan delivers bold flavors, high-quality ingredients, and a cozy atmosphere near Hongdae. Highly recommend trying the Schuan pepper chicken, it’s unforgettable. Best vegan meal I’ve had in Seoul, period. They have plenty of non-vegan options (great for my gf), but I am vegan and have been eating at vegan restaurants across Seoul for 3 days and this had my favorite dishes. The tofu pancake is a MUST. It’s my top dish of the trip hands down. The yuzu tofu was delightful as well Super cute atmosphere as well. Perfect for a date or small group

Amazing restaurant! Has vegan and vegetarian options in addition to meat dishes. Everything is clearly labeled. We loved this place and wish we found it earlier in our trip because we would have gone multiple times. :)
