Lovely restaurant / wine bar in Swakop. Funky vibey interior. We went for snack and had « Namibian sushi » - like a cross between beef tartare and carpaccio, mixed with herbs. It was amazing. Proper drinks were served properly! I had a « Grown up Pudding » - it was divine! Ginger crunch with rum soaked (and I mean soaked) raisins, with vanilla ice cream and chocolate mousse. I was in heaven. Great selection of sensibly priced SA wines. Friendly team. Well worth a visit. Really nice restaurant with great wine and traditional Namibian dishes. We were a large group and were offered the large table in the private area, hence we had to wait quite a lot for the service as we were out of sight. But the waiters were lovely and we had a great experience. I had the pleasure of dining at Ankerplatz Restaurant in Swakopmund for a truly special occasion—my 50th birthday—and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The restaurant’s cozy yet stylish ambiance, paired with its excellent service, made me feel truly celebrated. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was just right, making the night even more special. The menu was a delightful mix of fresh seafood and well-crafted dishes, all prepared with great attention to flavor and presentation. Every bite was a treat, and the quality of the ingredients truly stood out. The highlight of the evening was the way the restaurant helped make my milestone birthday feel even more meaningful—with thoughtful gestures that added a personal touch to the celebration. Swakopmund itself is a beautiful coastal destination, and dining at Ankerplatz made my time there even more memorable. We had such a wonderful experience. The waiters and barman were so friendly and welcoming. The drinks were really great and we had really good pizza, burger and ribs. Had such a good experience we had to repeat this spot before returning home.
