We recently visited this restaurant during our trip to Japan, in November 2025 and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting — the restaurant isn’t very large, but that actually added to its charm. The cozy space allowed guests to feel connected and created a lively, friendly ambience. The place was bustling that day, with a steady stream of both dine-in guests and takeout orders. We tried a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and everything tasted fresh, flavourful, and homely. Having been in Japan for over a week, we were really missing our adrak/ginger kadak chai — and to our pleasant surprise, the chef was more than happy to prepare it for us. It was an absolute treat, and I savoured every drop! The staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and friendly, which added even more positivity to the experience. Overall, this restaurant truly stood out for its hospitality, great food, and wonderful atmosphere. Thank you for the hospitality . Review: Downtown B’s – A Hidden Taste of India in Roppongi Tucked away in the upscale neighborhood of Roppongi, not far from the American Embassy and the Mori Building’s TeamLab Borderless digital art museum, is a little Indian restaurant that truly feels like home ,Downtown B’s. Run by a friendly and passionate owner named Bonnie, this small restaurant delivers something rare in Tokyo, not just good food, but food made with heart. The space is cozy, decorated with quotes and writings on the walls that keep you engaged while you wait. The soundtrack is equally charming, soft 80s and 90s hits playing in the background give the place a nostalgic vibe. It feels less like a restaurant and more like a warm gathering spot. Bonnie himself is the soul of the restaurant. He serves each dish personally, chatting with guests in multiple languages English, Japanese, Hindi, Bengali and more, making everyone feel instantly comfortable. His philosophy is simple :”A meal prepared with heart and honesty has the power to make anyone happy” And honestly, you can taste that in every bite. His kitchen team works with same energy, preparing fresh curries, breads, and rice dishes that arrive at your table full of flavor. Though the restaurant is small, it throngs with life and warmth. Indians come here for a taste of home, Japanese guests for a touch of spice and warmth, and tourists from across the world for an authentic culinary experience. It’s easy to see why Downtown B’s was acclaimed as a 2020 Local Favorite by Google,a recognition proudly displayed on a sticker by the wall. On our visit, the highlight was watching my daughter’s reaction. She had been missing Indian naan and chicken curry ever since we left India. The moment she was served, her eyes lit up and she was extremely overjoyed ,it was that heartfelt. The food was simply Fresh ,delicious and authentic, carrying comfort of home even thousands of kilometers away. Wheelchair accessibility can be a bit challenging due to the compact size of the restaurant, even though it is conveniently located along the roadside Overall: Downtown B’s is a hidden treasure in Tokyo. If you’re craving real Indian food, want a warm personal dining experience, or just want to discover a place where music, culture, and food come together beautifully, this is the spot to visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 for heart, food, and hospitality) It's feel like home food and home atmosphere 😊, and staff are very friendly. We had lunch at Downtown B’s Indian Kitchen in Tokyo, and it honestly felt like home. Mr. Ajay was so warm and welcoming. He listened to us so patiently when we said we were looking for vegetarian food, and made sure everything was perfect. You don’t always get that kind of care, especially when you’re far from home — but he really made us feel looked after. And the food😋Just like ghar ka khana. Simple, full of flavor, and made with love. 😊😊Every bite reminded me of home-cooked meals. Nothing fancy, just real comfort food that makes you feel good inside. If you’re in Tokyo and missing Indian food — this is the perfect place. So grateful for the experience. Thank you, Mr. Ajay!

In California, we have a lot of Indian restaurants and I love Indian food. I came in here and was immediately greeted by the host and he took my order. The food was absolutely amazing. I only got the cheese none and Samosa with some chutney and reytah. Everything was just top-tier. I didn’t think I’d be eating Indian food in Japan, but I would come back here for sure. I sat and enjoyed my meal for an hour and they didn’t rush me.
