This restaurant is a MUST VISIT if you’re in Tokyo and you like farm to table restaurants!! We were their last guests of 2024 and it was our COOLEST dinner of the trip. They were so nice to us and took the time to explain each dish and how mushrooms were incorporated. They were super creative and each dish was different and delicious. Their passion for the craft and their food and ingredients really shines through. I loved this dinner because it was SO special and not pretentious / stuffy!! The service was top notch, attentive with explanation of each dish in English. I never thought I would enjoy a dessert with mushroom so much. I’m not usually a fan of multi-course dinners as they can feel stuffy but Mushroom Tokyo does it in a way that’s approachable and leaving you to wonder where the last two hours went. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. As a child obsessed with both mushrooms and cooking, I knew I had to reach his restaurant. Some day... In 2024, my chance had arrived. After a long but, not long enough, 2 weeks in Japan; MUSHROOM was the final stop. I ordered the Mushroom tasting menu, obviously! Though, staring at other people's plates, I think every menu option would create a fantastic experience. The restaurant design and decor was subtle and sophisticated. Where one could feel comfortable in a suit and tie or, equally, a nice polo. Our server, too, went above-and-beyond for us; helping to explain any questions and translate any confusions. Each dish was immaculate. The flavors and boldness would ebb and flow with each course such that no bite was overwhelming or tiresome. Perfection in every sense, this restaurant defines Oishii! Chef YAMAOKA rented a room in my heart 30 years ago and finally I got to visit. Arigato gozaimasu Chef!

The most unique dining experience I’ve had in Tokyo. We opted for the paired dinner and glad we did. Each dish was a masterful blend of texture and taste. If you like flavorful and hearty mushroom dishes you will enjoy Tokyo Mushroom. I got the mushroom lunch, which included soup, salad, "hash browns," a main, and some unexpectedly delightful gelatto. My companion had the curry, and said it was the best Japanese curry she has ever had. No mushroom, no life, no brake! Small venue.
