Phenomenal dinner for my husband with friends. We went a little crazy and spent way too much, but the food was so fantastic we’ll treasure the memory. Some standouts for us were the scallops and pork belly. Sugar toads and beef cheeks were delicious and unique, don’t skip the sweet potato rolls Absolutely the coolest dining experience and best meal of my life. 5 course tasting menu was phenomenal. The atmosphere of the kitchen and being able to watch their craft with the open flame grill leaves you staring at the kitchen drooling over each plate as it comes out My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary experience at Dabney DC on 10/24. Our wait staff was amazing, especially Lucy! She walked us through the menu and chef’s specials. My husband and I chose a beautiful 32oz ribeye. I adore eating at restaurants where the chef and staff remain committed to the craft of favorable food that is responsibly sourced from humane farms along the East Coast. Even the chef took a moment to pause and say hello! We have to get some more kudos for this dedicated team. James Beard, Michelin, knock knock!

Shew.. Lots could be said. But ill keep it short in the long list of long-winded reviews. Phenomenal, The food, the service, the vibe... Wanted to keep it short but I NEED TO ADD... Exceptional service from The Dabney team! My buddy Pratt joked about a dish with the server, saying it would have been better with a Chicharrone.. The server came out with some fresh pork rinds, salt, lime and hot sauce. Hilarious and thoughtful.

Positives: - Ambiance was great, the large open hearth and kitchen were beautiful. - Everything tasted delicious. The sourdough tartine and tomato small plates were amazing, highly recommend! - The service was great, zero complaints! Negatives: - The fact that the pork prime rib is listed as a "family style" dish is crazy. The connotation behind labeling something "family style" is that it's meant to share comfortably amongst 3-4 people. It was the size of a main dish, one person could have easily finished it. There is nothing family style about any of the dishes on the menu. The problem here isn't that dishes are small and expensive, that's fine and expected! The problem is that the menu is lying to you. I think if they stuck to the well established norm of an appetizer and a main dish section on the menu, it would avoid unnecessary confusion. After the "family style"(main dish for one) pork prime rib we had to order more "small plates" (appetizers) in order to finish our meal. The staff was very attentive and noticed that we were upset with the portion size so they brought us complimentary fried catfish sandwiches which we appreciated, the sandwiches were very good! I'd recommend people eat here, the food is very good! Just ignore the labels on the menu and everything will be fine.
