Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice from the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The site is constantly evolving thanks to the continuous excavations that offer new discoveries every year. The transfer to the Amalfi coast after the visit to the excavations will last around 90/120 minutes.
