About This Tour
Cheese, Wine and Bread are the holy trinity of the French table with each occupying an important role. We start by visiting one of the most unique bakeries in Bordeaux and see an oven built in 1765 under King Louis XV. You'll learn about traditional bread-making before sampling regional specialties like pain Gascon. From there we visit an artisanal fromagerie to discover the immense world of French cheese where you and your guide will make selections for your tasting. Afterwards, you'll head to a wine shop with one of the largest selections in Southwest France before settling in for a detailed discussion and cheese and wine pairing. Set in the charming neighborhood of Chartons, you'll discover a part of the city historically known as the wine district. Nowadays this area offers a mix of high-end boutiques, specialty food stores and antique shops and is a favorite among locals. This tour doubles as lunch for most people.
