About This Tour
Join a walking tour of Assisi to see the wonderful Basilica of Saint Francis, Saint Rufino’s Cathedral, and Saint Claire's Basilica as well as the lively main city square – Piazza del Comune. Due to the exposition of the remains of St. Francis, guided tours of the basilica will be suspended from February 15, 2026, to April 6, 2026. The guide will provide an explanation from outside, and then visitors will be able to enter on their own.

Meeting Point
Parking Matteotti is the last parking of Assisi at the top of the city. The big parking in front of the hotel NUN. The meeting point is in front of the park ticket office

A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women. If you do not comply with this dress code, you may be refused entry. On Sundays, major Catholic holidays and national holidays, guided tours inside the Basilica of St Francis are forbidden. The guide will show you the church from the outside and you will enter alone in silence. On October 4th the Basilica of St. Francis is closed The tour is in English IMPORTANT: Matteotti parking lot is closed for renovation; no parking is possible. The meeting point remains confirmed at Matteotti parking lot.
