About This Tour
Jose and Luis are a couple who were born and raised in Mexico City, and have a shared passion for food, cooking and entertaining. Over the years, they have enjoyed sharing their table with family, friends and strangers, by nurturing them with their food and stories. In this experience, you will walk through the market with your hosts and stop at their favorite stalls to meet the vendors, learn more about their produce and buy ingredients for your cooking class thereafter. Then you will don your aprons and learn to cook garnachas, molcajete salsa and sopa conde. After you cook, share the meal you helped prepare. • Private, guided tour of Mercado 20 de Noviembre or Mercado Alternativo de Tlalpan • Try your hand at traditional Mexican cooking, then sit to enjoy your homemade meal • Learn to prepare 2-3 dishes, adapted by Jose and Luis throughout the years • Enjoy a glass of horchata or mezcal or local wine included with the meal • Lactose free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan meals
